Springboro Panthers vs Troy High School

I photographed the first game of the double header yesterday when the Panthers faced off against Troy. I brought out the big guns for this game since the weather was excellent. I used my ladder and positioned it behind the centerfield fence to get some of the shots of the home plate. I used my 400mm 2.8 L IS with a 2.0x extender which gave me an 800 mm 5.6. I also used Canon 20D. The 20D was my first Canon Digital camera from 2003 an is now a backup to a backup to a backup. Luckily, I didn’t get rid of it, because it has a 1.6 crop factor instead of the usual 1.3 as with my 1DMKIII and 1DMDIIN.

The advantage of the 1.6 crop means that I had an effective optical reach of 1,280mm at 5.6. This allowed me to have a great perspective from about 390 feet from straight away center field. Check out the images of the game below.
