I must be a good luck charm on the Panthers as the Springboro varsity baseball team won again this time against Xenia. The Panthers relied on the sophomore pitcher Josh Lakes, who topped the radar gun at 94 mph, according to Josh Sillies, and pitched like a seasoned veteran by allowing 3 runs over 6 innings of work. Here is Josh pitching to a dominant victory.
The Bench players did something that I’ve not seen them do before, Eric Sillies warned me to be ready to shoot and this is the end result…
…every time Josh struck out a Xenia player, the bench players would stomp their feet twice, clap their hands twice and then cross their legs. Or is clap, stomp and then cross? I don’t know exactly, but it was fun watching them do their thing. Here are some more images from the game and again a link to all of the 2009 season images.
